“2020 was a hard year for everyone, especially artists. facing the trials of everyday life, financial hardship, the pandemic, the global quarantine, etc.. I was also met with spiritual and emotional hardship as well. Going through a divorce, alongside the birth of a new baby, reuniting with an estranged alcoholic parent, and more; the stress of 2020 would either break or make me. Reflecting on all that made me who I am all while being transparent and from the heart. Gaining strength is not easy. Writing pain isn’t pleasant. But it creates a beautiful masterpiece in the end.”

Bringing you everything you want to hear from a rapper. From boom nap to trap, flexing multi syllable and bar/punchlines. But not only that. martyr thompson has shown time an again that his musical inclinations and roots are deeper than rap. Singing and doing talk box, as well as mixing and mastering most of the project, martyr loves the craft of creating music.

“Sonically, I wanted this album to cover all my personal interests and taste in music. I love R&B almost as much as I love hip hop. Being that the two are so compatible I’ve always dabbled in trying my hand at R&B type records. Songs like ‘I’m In It’ and ‘Gave It All’ are me really focusing in on singing and showing that while I may not be the best singer, it is definitely in the arsenal. Being able to sing a hook and then rap my ass off I feel gives listeners a smooth vibe while still lyrically delivering with the bars.”
